Steal An Egg Treadmill: Upgrade Costs & Speed Training

Steal An Egg Treadmill upgrade costs level by level, the Speed gate every biome sits behind, the matching Pen slot table, and which upgrade to buy first.

10/13/2026 Update #7 Last updated: 10/13/2026 10 min read

What is the Treadmill in Steal An Egg?

The Treadmill is the base facility where you train Speed, and Speed is the stat that decides which biomes you can safely raid for eggs. It is not a cosmetic prop: standing on it converts time into Speed at the rate your Treadmill level allows.

Every level you buy raises the training bonus you gain per step, so a higher Treadmill level is not just “faster training” — it is the difference between grinding a Speed gate for hours and clearing it in a single session.

Two systems compete for the same money, and that is the whole reason this page exists. The Treadmill and the Pen — the facility that holds your income-generating pets — are upgraded from the same cash pool, so every purchase you make on one of them is a purchase you cannot make on the other. Knowing what each level costs is what keeps that cash from going to the wrong upgrade.

The Treadmill is not the only way to raise Speed. Equipping a Trail also raises movement speed, and Trails come in ten tiers running from Gray up through Divine, each tier bought separately in the Trail Shop with both a cash price and a Robux price. [Unconfirmed] All four Speed sources — Treadmill training, Trail multipliers, Speed Shop purchases and Pet Index rewards — are compared on the Speed guide.

How does the Treadmill gate your progression?

Speed is the single stat that gates every biome in the game, and the Treadmill is the main way to build it.

  • Every biome has a recommended Speed threshold before it is safe to enter. The Treadmill level you can afford sets how quickly you close the distance to the next threshold.
  • The next biome is where the better eggs are. A Speed gate you cannot clear leaves you farming the same biome, which is why the beginner guide treats Speed priorities and route planning as the same decision.
  • Biome order and egg tiers are tracked separately from the facility. The all eggs index lists what each area drops, and the best egg page compares what those hatch results actually earn.

Gameplay footage adds one cross-check worth keeping. In a creator run recorded for this page, 6K Speed was not enough for the next area, which wanted 10K, and crossing 12K opened the Desert area — plus an index reward in that same session handed over 1,000 Speed on the spot. [Unconfirmed] Index rewards are therefore a second, smaller Speed source alongside the Treadmill, but they are one-off pickups rather than a training loop.

Steal An Egg Treadmill upgrade costs (Lv. 1–11)

This table is a community compile, not a developer-published price list. It comes from a single source checked in September 2026 and every figure in it is marked [Unconfirmed]; treat the numbers shown in your own in-game Treadmill menu as the final source if they ever differ from this table.

Lv. 775B200
Lv. 82T500
Lv. 950T1K
Lv. 101Qa2K
Lv. 11 (MAX)15Qa3K

Read the curve rather than the individual rows:

  • Lv. 5 to Lv. 6 is where this stops being mid-game money. The cost moves from the millions into the billions, and it is also where the bonus growth starts to slow relative to what you pay.
  • Lv. 7 through Lv. 10 are long-term investment territory. Each level roughly doubles the bonus per step or better, but the cost multiplies far faster, so the source reserves these levels for players already running high-income pet setups.
  • The top of the table is a cash sink, not a gate. Nothing in the collected record says a maxed Treadmill is required for any biome — it is the ceiling of the same upgrade ladder you started on.

One independent check lines up with this table: the single upgrade price visible in the creator footage recorded for this page was 120 million, which is exactly the Lv. 5 row above. That corroborates the shape of the curve, not the whole table. [Unconfirmed]

Steal An Egg Pen upgrade costs (Lv. 1–12)

The Pen is where hatched pets actually live and generate income, and every pet you hatch needs an open Pen slot to start producing cash passively. Without enough slots, pets you have already hatched sit unused and stop contributing, however rare they are — so Pen level sets your passive-income ceiling directly.

Same caution as above, and it applies to both the costs and the “pets active” column: single source, checked September 2026, every cell [Unconfirmed]. Check your in-game Pen menu before you commit cash.

Two things the table does not say, but the same source does:

  • You do not need a maxed Pen to reach new biomes. The Pen is an income facility, not a gate — the Treadmill is what opens areas.
  • You do need enough slots to fund the rest of the ladder. Pets are what pay for Treadmill and Trail purchases, so a Pen that is too small simply throttles the cash feeding everything else. The pets index tracks which of those pets are worth a slot in the first place.

Treadmill or Pen first?

Upgrade the Treadmill first in almost all cases. Speed unlocks new biomes and better eggs, and without it your income pets stay capped at whatever low-tier eggs you can currently reach. The Pen only becomes the priority once adding slots meaningfully increases the cash flow you already have.

  • Low Treadmill level, few pets: upgrade the Treadmill. Extra Pen space with nothing worth placing in it returns nothing, and it delays the Speed gate in front of you.
  • Treadmill already clears your current biome gate, pets are backed up with nowhere to go: upgrade the Pen.
  • Both feel stalled: go steal a higher-value egg first, then reassess.

That third case is the one players skip. When both upgrades look equally expensive and neither looks decisive, the better move is usually to raise the income feeding them — a stronger egg in the current biome, or a Speed push that lets you reach a stronger biome — rather than to spend the same cash on the cheaper of the two menus.

Are there different Treadmills in Steal An Egg?

The level ladder above is not the only Treadmill mechanic in the collected record. Creator footage recorded for this page shows the Treadmill arriving as an unlockable early in a fresh account — it could not be upgraded at all until it was unlocked — and then paid Treadmill variants being bought with Robux: listings narrated in that footage include a sci-fi Treadmill at 19 Robux, a flame Treadmill at 39 and a celebrity Treadmill at 69, followed by golden, furry, lucky block and hacker Treadmills, with one video title calling a Guardian Treadmill the best in the game. [Unconfirmed]

Two cautions attach to all of that. The footage is a single creator’s run, and the variant names and prices come from a transcript of it rather than from any developer listing. Nothing here recommends buying them — it records that the facility has more than one axis, so a price you see in game may belong to a variant rather than to the level table above. [Unconfirmed]

Steal An Egg Treadmill: FAQ

What does the Treadmill do in Steal An Egg?

It is the facility where you train Speed, and Speed is the stat that gates which biomes you can safely raid. Each Treadmill level raises the training bonus you gain per step.

How much does it cost to max the Treadmill?

The community table this page carries lists Lv. 11 as the maximum at 15Qa, with Lv. 10 at 1Qa and Lv. 9 at 50T. Those are single-source, community-compiled figures checked in September 2026 and every one of them is marked [Unconfirmed] — verify against the in-game Treadmill menu.

What is the Pen in Steal An Egg?

The Pen is where hatched pets live and generate passive income. Upgrading it adds pet slots, so more pets can earn at once. It is not required to reach new biomes, but too few slots caps the income that funds your Treadmill and Trails.

Should you upgrade the Treadmill or the Pen first?

The Treadmill, in almost all cases. Speed opens biomes and better eggs, which is what raises income in the first place. Switch to the Pen once your Treadmill already clears your current biome’s Speed gate and your good pets have nowhere to go.

Are these Treadmill and Pen costs official?

No. They are compiled from community and in-game data by a single third-party source checked in September 2026, and that source itself tells readers to treat their own Treadmill and Pen menus as the final word. No developer-published price list exists. [Unconfirmed]

Can you pay Robux to progress the Treadmill faster?

Creator footage shows Robux Treadmill variants being bought on a fresh account, and the Treadmill has to be unlocked before any of it applies. Every price and variant name in that footage is a single-source, transcript-derived record rather than a developer store listing. [Unconfirmed]
