Steal An Egg Speed: How to Get Speed Fast (All Biomes)
Steal An Egg Speed comes from four sources: Treadmill training, Trail multipliers, Speed Shop purchases and Pet Index rewards. Every biome's Speed gate listed.
How do you get Speed fast in Steal An Egg?
Speed comes from four systems, and fast players stack all four: train on the Treadmill for base Speed, equip a better Trail to multiply that training, buy flat Speed in the Speed Shop, and clear Pet Index entries for one-off Speed rewards.
The fastest route is not one of those alone — it is the income-to-Speed loop: steal the heaviest egg you can carry home, hatch a pet that earns more, reinvest that cash into the next Trail and Treadmill tier, then repeat at a higher ceiling.
Everything below is community-verified, not developer-published — third-party guide coverage and creator gameplay recorded in September 2026, cross-referenced with this wiki’s Treadmill and Enchanted Forest records. Figures the record does not settle are marked [Unconfirmed], and your own in-game Speed number outranks all of it.
What does Speed do in Steal An Egg?
Two jobs:
- It unlocks biomes. Each zone sits further out, and you only reach a biome’s nest once your Speed clears its requirement.
- It lets you escape the guardian. Taking an egg wakes the biome’s guardian, which chases you until you reach your base. Higher Speed means a bigger head start home.
The rule nobody posts on a sign: carrying an egg slows you down. The number beside a nest is the minimum to reach it, not the Speed needed to run a heavy egg back. Experienced players therefore aim for roughly double a biome’s listed requirement before farming its best eggs. [Unconfirmed] — community practice rather than a developer figure, but the most repeated advice in the collected coverage.
Steal An Egg Speed requirements for every biome
This is the 12-biome set recorded in September 2026 from a third-party guide that says it cross-checks other community guides. Community record, not official.
| Biome | Speed required | Guardian |
|---|---|---|
| Forest | Start (no requirement) | Chicken |
| Lake | 900 | Swan |
| Desert | 10K | Scorpion |
| Jungle | 40K | Tiger |
| Snow | 170K | Yeti |
| Volcano | 700K | Hellhound |
| Abyss Ocean | 2.5M | Beluga Whale |
| Prehistoric | 18M | T-Rex |
| Cosmic | 700M | Dragon |
| Cherry Blossom | 2.5B | Nine-Tailed Fox (Oni Tiger) |
| Titan Temple | 7B | Gorilla King |
| Angels vs Demons | 20B | Angel / Demon / Hybrid guardian |
- The curve is exponential. Lake to Desert is roughly 11×, Cosmic to Cherry Blossom goes 700M to 2.5B, and Titan Temple (7B) to Angels vs Demons (20B) is close to 3×. Past Cosmic, Speed farming becomes the game.
- One guardian row is disputed. This source names the Abyss Ocean guardian the Beluga Whale; the Eldorado table on our Enchanted Forest page names that row Moby. [Unconfirmed]
The list has grown since: Update #7 added a 13th biome, the Enchanted Forest, gated at 50B Speed behind the Enchanted Lion — a 2.5× jump over Angels vs Demons.
The four ways to get Speed in Steal An Egg
1. Treadmill — your base Speed
Standing on the Treadmill converts time into Speed at the rate your tier allows. The record lists 11 levels, topping out at the Astral Treadmill. [Unconfirmed] Each tier raises Speed banked per second of training, so an upgrade permanently multiplies every later session — buy the next tier as soon as income allows. Costs, and the Pen slots competing for the same cash, are on the Treadmill page.
2. Trails — the training multiplier
A Trail multiplies the Speed you gain from training instead of adding a flat amount, so it scales with your Treadmill tier. The same source lists 11 Trails, with the Moonbloom Trail on top, community-reported at 20× and priced in quadrillions of cash as an Angels vs Demons reward. [Unconfirmed] So alternate: Treadmill when income allows, then the best Trail you can afford. Our Treadmill page records a different structure from another source — ten tiers, Gray to Divine — so the count is disputed.
3. Speed Shop — instant Speed for cash
Flat Speed sold for cash instead of training time, with top options reported at up to +1B Speed per purchase. [Unconfirmed] The fastest way to clear one specific wall, and the worst way to build a base: it competes for the same cash as Treadmill and Trail upgrades. Recorded gameplay matches that — one noob-to-pro run buys a billion Speed early and then raids a higher biome with its Treadmill still low. [Unconfirmed] A bridge over a gate, not the ladder.
4. Pet Index — one-off Speed rewards
Every new pet logged in the Pet Index pays a one-time Speed reward — recorded entries run from +420 Speed (Forest Chicken) to +1,000 Speed (Brr Brr Patapim) on a list this wiki does not treat as confirmed. Numbers live on the Pet Index page. [Unconfirmed] The point for a Speed route is that it is free: no cash, no training time. It is not a loop — entries are finite, one reward per pet.
Which Speed source should you buy first?
- Cannot reach the next biome: a Treadmill tier first; the Speed Shop is faster only if the gap is small.
- Mid-game, progress feels slow: check the Trail before the Treadmill — it multiplies training you already paid for.
- Close to a gate, want it open now: Speed Shop. The last stretch is the one case where flat Speed beats investment.
- Past Cosmic: nothing shortens that wall alone. 700M → 2.5B → 7B → 20B is funded by pet income, so the pets index and best egg page matter as much as either Speed menu.
The income-to-Speed loop
- Steal the heaviest egg you can carry home. Your Speed ceiling decides which biome, and which egg tier, is worth the trip.
- Hatch and place the result. A pet that out-earns the one it replaces turns a steal into permanent income.
- Reinvest into Speed. Trail and Treadmill tiers share one cash pool, so every steal is a Speed purchase you have not made yet.
- Repeat at the new ceiling. Higher Speed reaches a heavier egg or opens the next biome, which pays for the tier above.
Two failure modes show up in recorded runs: upgrading Speed past what your income supports stalls the loop, and running a heavy egg at exactly the listed requirement loses it on the way home.
Steal An Egg Speed FAQ
What is the fastest way to get Speed in Steal An Egg?
Stack all four. The Treadmill sets the training rate, a Trail multiplies it, the Speed Shop jumps it to clear a specific gate, and index rewards add free Speed as you collect.
How much Speed do I need for each biome?
From Lake at 900 Speed to Cosmic at 700M and Angels vs Demons at 20B, with the Enchanted Forest at 50B. Those are minimums to reach each nest — allow roughly double before carrying a heavy egg out. [Unconfirmed] — community figures, not official.
Do Trails add Speed or multiply it?
Multiply. A Trail scales the Speed you gain from Treadmill training, so its value tracks your Treadmill tier. Reported top tier: the Moonbloom Trail at 20×. [Unconfirmed]
Are these Speed numbers official?
No — all community-verified. A third-party guide checked on October 17, 2026 covers the biome table and the four sources; creator gameplay from September 2026 shows how they behave. Unsettled figures are marked [Unconfirmed].
