Steal An Egg Butterfly — Net, Bloom & Enchanted Essence
How to get butterflies in Steal An Egg: unlock the Enchanted Tree, grab the free Butterfly Net, farm Butterfly Bloom events, redeem Enchanted Essence.
What do butterflies do in Steal An Egg?
Butterflies are the resource at the heart of Update #7’s endgame loop, which went live on October 3, 2026. They are not pets and they are not cosmetic — they are a farmable material. You catch butterflies inside the Enchanted Tree, redeem them for Enchanted Essence, and then use that Essence on an egg to guarantee the new Enchanted Mutation.
That last point is what makes butterflies worth farming. Mutations in Steal An Egg are normally a roll of the dice — you hatch an egg and hope. Enchanted Essence removes the roll: applying it to an egg guarantees the Enchanted Mutation outcome. Every stage of the Update #7 unlock chain — the 50B Speed gate, the Wisp, the three quests, the Enchanted Tree — exists to feed this loop: catch butterflies, build Essence, guarantee mutations.
How do you unlock butterflies?
Butterflies sit at the very end of the Update #7 progression chain, so nothing here is accessible on a fresh account. The full unlock path, in order:
- Reach 50B Speed. The Enchanted Forest — the newest biome, past Angels and Demons — gates at roughly 50 billion Speed, the highest requirement in the game.
- Find the Wisp NPC. Inside the Enchanted Forest, the Wisp floats on the right side near the recommended speed board. It only spawns for players who meet the Speed requirement. Our Wisp guide covers the location and the spawn troubleshooting steps in detail.
- Complete the three Grow Your Wisp quests. Steal 20 Enchanted Forest eggs, fuse 20 Enchanted Forest animals, and steal any one Eternal egg. Rarity and weight never matter for the first two.
- Enter the Enchanted Tree. Finishing the questline unseals the Enchanted Tree. Inside it is a secret room, and that room is where the entire butterfly system lives.
Once the tree is open, the butterfly loop is permanently available to you — there is nothing else to unlock.
Where do you get the Butterfly Net?
The Butterfly Net is waiting in the center of the secret room inside the Enchanted Tree, and it is completely free — no purchase, no Robux, no quest beyond the unlock chain you already completed. Walk in, pick it up, and it is yours to keep.
You cannot catch butterflies without the net, so grabbing it is the mandatory first stop after the tree opens. If you have finished the Wisp questline and cannot find the net, rejoin the game or hop servers — launch-window reports describe the occasional freshly-unlocked server failing to load tree contents properly.
How does the Butterfly Bloom event work?
Butterfly Bloom is the recurring timed event that spawns butterflies inside the Enchanted Tree. The core loop is simple:
- Equip the Butterfly Net from your hotbar once you are inside the tree.
- Wait for a Bloom wave. Butterflies spawn in the tree’s chamber when the event triggers, hovering above the flowers at different heights.
- Chase and catch. Run — and jump — toward an airborne butterfly and click or tap to swing the net. Your Speed stat is your real advantage here; the same grinding that got you to 50B makes catching noticeably easier.
- Repeat. Blooms recur on a timer, so farming is a cycle of catching everything in a wave, then positioning for the next one.
Different types of butterflies appear during a Bloom, and better catches are worth more toward your Essence grind. The developers have not published an official spawn schedule; community reports describe waves arriving every few minutes, but treat any exact cadence as unconfirmed until it is pinned down in-game.
One more community-reported note, flagged as unconfirmed: players describe AFK farming setups that park a character in the tree chamber and let repeated Bloom waves come to them. The method exists, but no reliable per-hour or per-day yield numbers have been verified across sources — be skeptical of any exact figures you see quoted.
How do you redeem Enchanted Essence?
Caught butterflies convert into Enchanted Essence through the redemption path inside the butterfly system — catching is the input, Essence is the output. Essence is the update’s real currency: stockpile it from repeated Butterfly Blooms, then spend it where it matters.
Using Enchanted Essence on an egg guarantees the Enchanted Mutation — the headline mutation added in Update #7. That guarantee is the entire point of the farm: instead of hatching egg after egg hoping for a random mutation roll, you convert butterfly farming time into a certain outcome.
The exact stat effects of the Enchanted Mutation have not been officially published yet, so this page deliberately does not quote numbers. What is confirmed from independent write-ups is the chain itself: butterflies → Enchanted Essence → a guaranteed Enchanted Mutation on the egg you apply it to.
Steal An Egg Butterfly FAQ
Is there a butterfly code in Steal An Egg? No. There are no butterfly codes, and Steal An Egg has never had an official code redemption system — the codes status page tracks every check. Anyone selling a “butterfly code” or “Essence code” is guessing.
How often does Butterfly Bloom happen? It is a recurring timed event inside the Enchanted Tree, so you never wait long between chances to catch. The developers have not published an exact schedule; community reports describe waves every few minutes, but treat that cadence as unconfirmed.
Is the Enchanted Mutation chance 100%? When you use Enchanted Essence on an egg, yes — the Essence guarantees the Enchanted Mutation. That is exactly what distinguishes it from normal mutation rolls, which stay random. No Essence, no guarantee.
Can other players catch the butterflies before you? Community reports describe butterfly spawns as shared across the server, so faster players may net a spawn first (unconfirmed). If your server feels crowded, hopping to a smaller or private server is the standard workaround.
